About the Producer
The winery that produces this wine is one of Margaret River’s largest wineries only 25 minutes north of the township in the Wilyabrup sub-region.
Established in 2000 their wines reflect the quality of the fruit grown on the vineyard. The site favours low yields, intense flavours and bold structure. Winemaking is left to wild yeast cultures and minimal intervention. Their philosophy is to capture the quality of fruit produced in the vineyard to create an outstanding range of wines showing intensity and freshness, embracing the best of the Margaret River region.
This philosophy has remained true with fantastic results in wine shows and press reviews throughout the years, particularly with the reds. Accolades include multiple trophies, golds, silvers and countless bronze medals.
Comments from Wine Buyer Steve:
This Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon caught my attention as soon I opened the sample bottle and smelt the distinctive characters of mint and small berries which is the true characteristic of a Margaret River Cabernet. This wine just oozes class and distinction, and it is obvious enormous effort and love has gone into making it. This is top-shelf Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the renowned Wilyabrup sub region of Margaret River.
It is a bargain for $20.00 per bottle as the winery sells it for $30 per bottle.
What is Cabernet Sauvignon:
This is one of the world’s most widely recognised red wine grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon became internationally recognised through its prominence in Bordeaux wines where it is often blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. From France, the grape spread across the world and can be found in Australia’s Margaret River, Clare Valley, Barossa Valley, Mt Barker and Coonawarra regions.
The classic profile of Cabernet Sauvignon tends to be full-bodied wines with high tannins and noticeable acidity that contributes to the wine’s ageing potential. In cooler climates, Cabernet Sauvignon tends to produce wines with blackcurrant notes that can be accompanied by green bell pepper notes, mint and cedar which will all become more pronounced as the wine ages.
