The 2024 Frankland River Back Beach Mataro is a medium-bodied red with juicy dark fruit, savoury spice and fine, gentle tannins. Dark cherry and blackberry aromas are layered with dried herbs, spice and a touch of earthy character, while 10 months maturation in French oak barriques adds structure without overwhelming the fruit. The palate has good length and a dry, flavoursome finish. A great match for home-made pizza and tapas.
