Margaret River Back Vintage Shiraz 2017
$15.00each
Custom Label DesignerAbout The Wine:
This Margaret River Back Vintage Shiraz 2017 has full up front small berry flavours and is very smooth. The fruit flavours don’t dominate; they just sit back and let you enjoy the smooth tannins and elegant finish. This wine has benefitted greatly from bottle age. The tannin structure is subtle and light because of the good age of the wine. A perfect wine for our back vintage range.
About The Producer
The producer of this wine was established in 1996 and was sold by its original owners in 2017. It now does not trade under its original name. It was a very small family operation with very little retail presence other than in restaurants and via cellar door. This back vintage Pinot Noir has been stored in a temperature-controlled environment since being bottled in 2018.
Comments from Wine Buyer Steve:
Wow!!! This is ripper of an aged Margaret River Shiraz!! It has got some real depth richness and fruit intensity to it and a great smooth tannin structure. This is also a beautifully aged and oaked Shiraz. This is truly a steal at $15.00 per bottle for our customers as it is usually sold for between $30.00 per bottle. My Score 94/100 WACC Gold.
What is Shiraz
The French and Americans call it Syrah, we call it Shiraz. A versatile variety and well suited to a range of climates and can be found in most of the grape growing regions of Australia.
In hot climates (such as the Barossa Valley of Australia), Shiraz is more consistently full-bodied with softer tannin, jammier fruit and spice notes of liquorice, anise and earthy leather. In many regions, the acidity and tannin levels of Shiraz allows the wines produced from the grape to have favourable aging potential.
