About the Wine:

The grapes for this awesome Mornington Peninsular Rose 2020 were de-stemmed and crushed with the juice drained off directly to provide a delicate pink juice. The juice was then fermented cold in stainless steel using an aromatic yeast strain. Ripe fruit flavors balance the acidity on the palate. These parcels were blended with a small portion of Pinot Grigio to add freshness and achieve the desired colour. The wine was bottled early to maximise flavour and freshness.

Comments from Wine Buyer Steve:

This is a cracking dry style Rose from one of the best wine producers in Victoria. The winery has been consistently rated 5 red stars by James Halliday. This Rose is perfect for the hot summer days ahead and has a beautiful texture and strawberry flavour.

My score 91/100 – WACC Silver Medal

About The Producer:

The winery that produces this 2020 Mornington Peninsular Rose is a small family operation that appreciate the simple things in life, and it’s all about good times, but they take their winemaking very seriously.

While they make their home in the Murray Darling region, they also look beyond these boundaries to unearth the best quality grapes Australia has to offer. Along with their dedicated team, they are passionate about crafting great wines at prices that won’t break the bank, offering their customers wines that constantly surprise and delight, for both their exceptional quality, and modest prices

What is Rose?

A rose is a type of wine that incorporates some of the color from the grape skins, but not enough to qualify it as a red wine. It may be the oldest known type of wine, as it is the most straightforward to make with the skin contact method.

Rose is not color specific, shades can range from the merest suggestion of a blush to a full-on purple fit. Cerise, cranberry, fairy floss, fuschia, magenta, maroon, ruby, strawberry, peach, tangerine, salmon, vermilion and yes, rose – the flower. Half the pleasure in pouring a glass is its looks. It’s vinous eye-candy. Throw in a few million bubbles and it’s captivating in sparkling form
