About The Wine

This awesome Western Australian Back Vintage Chardonnay 2015 is oozing beautiful peach, tropical melon and citrus characters combined with silky oak integration. The wine spent 7 months in new French oak barrels.  The wine is elegant and refined and will age spectacularly with increased intensity and oak flavours. This Chardonnay has great ageing potential.

This is a stunning 2015 Back Vintage Chardonnay. The winery put this Chardy into brand new French oak barrels for 7 months. The oak integration is subtle and not overpowering together with the fresh flavours of peach and melon and fine citrus flavours. This is a Chardonnay that is going to get better and better with age. This is exceptional value at $12.00 per bottle as the winery sells it under brand at $27.00 per bottle.

About The Producer

The producer of this wine is a very small family operation with very little retail presence other than in restaurants and via cellar door. The family has shifted recently from wine making to truffle growing in the Manjimup area. They have never gone down the road of wine shows or rating by James Halliday preferring to keep it local and produce wines of exceptional quality. All wines produced are in small batches with love, care and respect for the grape.

About the region:

Manjimup’s viticulture and wine foundation began with research in the mid-1970s that identified the area for its potential as a leading grape-growing region. Located in the heart of Western Australia’s south-west among towering forests, Manjimup enjoys an outstanding reputation for its valued food crops; from prized, highly-priced truffles and a range of fruit and vegetables to high-quality wines.

Bush trails taking in unique flora and fauna are an added attraction for the continual flow of tourists. Though overall production is small, Manjimup has quickly established a reputation for its Verdelho, Merlot and Cabernet.

Aged in new French oak for 7 months.

Will get better with cellaring until 2026. Stelvin cap closure.
