About the Wine:

This magnificent Coonawarra Museum Release Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 is a fine-tuned blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (87%), Cabernet Franc (10%), Merlot (3%). A rich palate showing upfront dark berries with plum and spice. The wine is dense with flavour and solid structure but balanced with both fruit and weight.

Comments from Wine Buyer Steve:

Wow!!! I could not believe our luck when we were offered a very small parcel of this outstanding Coonawarra Museum Release Cabernet Sauvignon 2022. This is one of the wineries’ signature wines and it is superb!

The wine is complex and earthy. Up front fruit flavours of small forest berries and a well-integrated oak component. This is a flagship Cabernet from Coonawarra which is sold by the winery for $85.00 per bottle.

It is released to our customers under our Museum Release label for a fraction of the cost at $29.00 per bottle. Be quick it will be all gone super quick so secure some.

My Score 97/100 WACC Trophy.

What is Cabernet Sauvignon:

This is one of the world’s most widely recognised red wine grape varieties. Cabernet Sauvignon became internationally recognised through its prominence in Bordeaux wines where it is often blended with Merlot and Cabernet Franc. From France, the grape spread across the world and can be found in Australia’s Margaret River, Clare Valley, Barossa Valley, Mt Barker and Coonawarra regions.

The classic profile of Cabernet Sauvignon tends to be full-bodied wines with high tannins and noticeable acidity that contributes to the wine’s ageing potential. In cooler climates, Cabernet Sauvignon tends to produce wines with blackcurrant notes that can be accompanied by green bell pepper notes, mint and cedar which will all become more pronounced as the wine ages.

About the Producer and Region:

Renowned for its high number of grape producing wineries, Coonawarra is recognised as one of the finest wine regions in Australia. Located just 60kms north of Mount Gambier, the region is famous for its bright terra rossa soil, limestone base and pure underground water, creating ideal vineyard conditions.

Coonawarra is home to 36 wineries, best known for producing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. The region offers cellar doors, tastings and scenic vineyard experiences, making it a popular destination for wine lovers.

The producer of this Coonawarra Cabernet is a small family-owned boutique winery, hand-picking grapes and producing only small parcels each vintage with great care.
